Happy New Year!

I hope you had a good break, however you were celebrating. We had a quiet time here in Perth - I worked right through X'mas and New Year, as my Muse was cracking her whip! 😉

We're in mid-summer now in Australia and sweltering through successive heatwaves of temperatures in the 40s C (104+ F), so it's not very pleasant being out anyway.

The only silver lining to the horrible weather is that it forces me to cut every rose - something I can never normally bear to do because I like to see them in the garden - but there's no point leaving them since they would all just burn to a crisp! 😝

And I confess - the idea for Poppy, the heroine of my English Cottage Garden Mysteries, discovering a talent for flower arranging is inspired by my own love of creating bouquets and arrangements :-)

Muesli & I did spend a productive New Year's Day with IKEA (And you know you're getting old when you've only made the frame, and already, you're exhausted and need to stop for a cup of tea!! ;-)

I'm putting the finishing touches to BIKINIS AND MURDER, the last book in my Barefoot Sleuth Mysteries, and that will be releasing in the last week of Jan.

I have also almost finished writing the first draft of FRONDS AND ENEMIES, Book 5 in my English Cottage Garden Mysteries.

The manuscript will then go to my team of beta readers to get their feedback, before being revised and then sent to my editor & proofreader... so I'm hoping it will be ready for release in March (ahead of the pre-order schedule!).

(I also need to find some time to finish designing the cover art...!)

In the meantime, I have also start plotting and researching the next book in my 'Bewitched by Chocolate' Mysteries...

... which currently still doesn't have a title (finding a pun that includes both "magic" and "chocolate" words is proving a real challenge!!)

Depending on how smoothly the first draft goes and whether my Muse decides to be cooperative - and then whether the book needs lots of revisions following beta reader feedback - I'm hoping to have it ready to release in May.

I have to say, managing 3 projects simultaneously: prepping one book for release while writing another, and researching/plotting a third (never mind German translations, audiobooks and more) - is making my head spin a bit! :-)

I know many of you are impatiently waiting for the next book in your favourite series (don't worry, every series is going to get a new book soon - they just have to take turns since I'm only one person and can only write so fast! 😝)

Speaking of audiobooks, I'm very excited to tell all my German-speaking fans that aside from several more translations coming out this year, I will also be producing audiobooks in Deutsche!

I've found a lovely German narrator who has already started recording the first book in the Oxford-Tearoom-Krimi series, and we're looking forward to working together to bring out several titles this year.
