Hello! It's been a while again since I managed to drop a note - I hope you're keeping well! Things on my end have been
a bit hectic, especially with some unexpected travel overseas (and I'd barely settled back in after that big trip to the UK a few months ago!), but hopefully life is calming down now and I'll have a few quiet months to plot and write and catch up with all the work that had to be temporarily set aside! ***
As mentioned in my last newsletter, I had a wonderful book research trip to the Scottish Highlands during my time in
the UK. It was originally to do research for a new story idea I want to write, some time in the future, but while I was there, I was so inspired that I decided to set the next Oxford Tearoom Mystery there as well! So Book 12 - A High Whisk Situation - will have a distinctly Scottish
flavour 😉, with Gemma, Muesli and the Old Biddies snooping for clues amongst the prickly thistles and misty mountains of the Highlands. Speaking of misty mountains and prickly thistles... here is Part 2 of my Scottish adventures, as promised, featuring an exciting day I spent with a ghillie! Thank you to all those who left lovely comments on my blog for Part 1 - I'm so glad you're enjoying the posts and pictures! You might find it even more entertaining
to try and guess which things I mention in the blog end up written into the next Oxford Tearoom Mystery! 😉 (Don't worry - that creepy room with the hooks from the ceiling won't be one of them!)
Actually, that's always something I struggle with when I visit anywhere
wonderfully inspiring: there are so many cool settings, so many intriguing little facts, so many memorable experiences... but, of course, one can't include everything otherwise it'll end up like a travelogue! Also, sometimes there are fascinating things I'd love to write about but I know probably wouldn't be appropriate within the bounds of a "cozy mystery". As authors, we're supposed to follow the unspoken rules of the genre, such as not including anything too "dark" in the story or any graphic sex, violence or strong language... but I'll admit,
it can get a bit creatively frustrating sometimes. 😉

This series follows the adventures of Poppy - a city girl who unexpectedly inherits a cottage garden nursery deep in the English countryside. With no job, no family and no prospects, Poppy is delighted to leave her old life behind - especially when she arrives at Hollyhock Cottage and finds it filled with romantic climbing roses, fragrant herbs, and a bossy ginger tomcat who steals her heart. Unfortunately, she also finds something
else... a dead body. Thre are 6 books in the series to enjoy, with the latest book - Too Mulch to Handle - just
released a few months ago. It's now available in ebook, paperback and audiobook:

Recent fan FAQs: I received several messages recently asking me the same questions, so I thought I'd share the answers here too... Will the 'Bewitched by Chocolate' series be translated into German /
French? When? Yes, I'm planning to have all 3 of my main cozy mystery series translated into French and
German. We are currently focusing on the Oxford Tearoom Mysteries and the English Cottage Garden Mysteries first - but the Bewitched by Chocolate series will also be released in foreign editions as soon as we can fit it into the schedule. As for the English versions, I've started work on Book 8 - the plotting is a bit tricky as I'm aiming to finish this series and so
now have to tie up many story threads - but I hope to have it finished and ready for release in the first half of next year. All new English releases will be available in Germany, France and the other territories at the same time as it is out in the US and UK.
Why do you only give buy links to Amazon US, UK or DE for your books? What about Australia? What about Canada? Unfortunately, I can't give the links for every country as it would end
up being a very long list! I have to focus on the territories with the majority of sales for each title. But there is an easy way to tweak the URL to show the Amazon page for your country. All you have to do is click on the link I give you and then change the letters after "amazon. " - to the ones for your own country. Each book title has the same ASIN number in every territory, so that part of the link never changes. So for example, the Amazon US link for my latest release, Too Mulch to Handle is: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B553CQ61 So you just need to click on that link, then
click in the URL box on your browser and change the ".com" to the suffix for your own country, such as: " .co.uk" for Amazon UK " .com.au" for Amazon Australia " .ca" for
Amazon Canada " .fr" for Amazon France ... etc. Hope this helps!
Did you catch these new translations? For my German-speaking and French-speaking fans, here are some recent titles you may have missed:
GERMAN RELEASES: Eischnee von gestern (Ein Oxford-Tearoom-Krimi 7) Ebook & paperback: (* the audiobook is currently being recorded and should hopefully be available before Christmas)
Unter dem giftgrünen Rasen
(Ein Cottage-Garden-Krimi 2) Ebook & paperback:
Latest German audiobook release: Vier Törtchen und ein
Todesfall (Ein Oxford-Tearoom-Krimi 6)
FRENCH RELEASES: "Point de glas sage" (Les Thés meurtriers d'Oxford #4) Ebook & paperback: (* Book 5: "Tôt ou tarte" is almost ready and should be out next month.)
And lastly, for all those celebrating Hallowe'en, here's Muesli... not looking very impressed at my attempts to get
her into the spooky spirit of things! Haha!
Thanks for reading - talk soon!
