Yay! The audiobook version for the new Oxford Tearoom Mystery: "Wrongfully Infused" is finally available!
Thank you to all the audio fans who have been waiting so patiently (and I'm pleased to tell you that my narrator Pearl is much better now following her long recovery from Covid. Thanks to all those who sent messages of concern - she was really touched!).
And in case you missed it, here are the links for the Kindle and paperback editions:
New series in German!
For my German-speaking fans, I'm excited to announce the launch of my English Cottage Garden mysteries in Deutsch! Book 1 in the series: "Das Totenbeet im Garten" will be out tomorrow (Wed 2nd March) in both Kindle & paperback.
Amazon DE
Sadly, the one thing about the German version is that we lose some of Oren's quirky "talking", as there is no German word which sounds like the noise a cat might make. When I first came up with the idea of a cat who sounded like he was saying "N-ow?", I didn't think about how a wordplay joke like that might get lost in translation!
My German translator, Rita, did try very hard (and consulted several cat-owning German friends!) to see if she could find a suitable word, but in the end, we decided that there was nothing which really worked without seeming very unnatural and contrived.
But anyway, she's done a fantastic job and I'm really excited to introduce German readers to the world of Hollyhock Cottage and its characters, from city-girl-turned-garden-sleuth Poppy and the hilarious "mad scientist" Bertie to the broody, moody crime author Nick... not to mention one bossy, talkative ginger tomcat! 😉

Upcoming books...
I try to rotate around my different series as fairly as possible and so the next one up is the English Cottage Garden Mysteries. I've started work on Book 6: Too Mulch to Handle, and am battling to get the first draft out now (ugh! Hate the blank page - I love editing & rewriting my manuscripts once I have the
skeleton of a story down, but getting that first draft out is painful!!).
I'm a bit nervous about promising anything since "life" seems to keep throwing up unexpected things lately, but I'm hoping to have the book ready to release before the summer. As always, I'll do my best to get it out as quickly as I can! It's not available to pre-order yet, but I'll let you know if/when it does.
And with that, I'll leave you with a picture of me & Muesli doing research for the new book... yes, it's going to be a poison murder! 😉
ps. in the picture, I'm reading A is for Arsenic: The Poisons of Agatha Christie by
Kathryn Harkup. It's a fascinating book for anyone who is an Agatha Christie fan and would like to know more about the "famous" poisons she used... especially if you're a science nerd like me! 😉
The author is a chemist and writes in an accessible style for lay readers. As the blurb says, the book "looks at why certain chemicals kill, how they interact with the body, the cases that may have inspired Christie, and the feasibility of obtaining, administering and detecting these poisons, both at the time the novel was written and today."
I have to say, from a novelist's point of view, it's a great shame that most of these classic poisons are no longer so easy to obtain - it makes my job so much more difficult!! 😝
Thanks for reading - talk soon!
